A year ago on January 20th, more than five million marchers of all ages and walks of life took to the streets; making it the largest one day protest in America. I captured seven demonstrations and marches against Trump, but the women’s march was one of a kind. I saw anger and sadness; the emotions most folks held in their faces and bodies. I hope we continue to feel that we can make change and feel optimistic throughout this presidency. Personally, I struggle with balancing it all. Maintaining the anger while being hopeful that this will all be worth it. Does it have to get worse before it gets better?
“In the spirit of democracy and honoring the champions of human rights, dignity, and justice who have come before us, we join in diversity to show our presence in numbers too great to ignore,” the Women March’s site reads.
